The Philippines Typhoon Appeal The Philippines Typhoon Appeal

In one devastating week at the end of October, Typhoon Goni (known locally as Typhoon Rolly) wreaked havoc across The Philippines, with winds of up to 265 km/h – leaving a wake of destruction behind them. At least 16 people have been killed, and more than 2 million people are affected as a result of destroyed houses, farmland, and infrastructure.

More than 500,000 individuals are displaced and are currently in evacuation centers in the Bicol Region. Alarmingly, there are also more than 300 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in that region. With limited spaces in evacuation centers, the risk of contracting the virus is now dangerously high. Vulnerable families need our urgent support to provide shelter kits, blankets, clothing, food, water, as well as face masks and hand sanitiser to assist with COVID19 prevention.

CARE is on the ground in The Philippines and is working with our local partners to ensure affected people receive lifesaving aid.

Please give generously to our Global Emergency Fund so that we can immediately provide lifesaving aid and services to those who need them most.
