News from the CARE Australia Board
On behalf of Colin Galbraith and the CARE Australia Board:
It is with regret that we announce that after three years at the helm of CARE Australia, Sally Moyle, our Chief Executive, has tendered her resignation to commence the next chapter of her career.
Sally leaves CARE Australia in a very strong position for future growth and we sincerely thank Sally for her incredible energy, leadership and contribution during her tenure as CEO and for her commitment and vision to build a more equal world.
An interim CEO, Robert Glasser, has been appointed from the board until the recruitment of a new CEO takes place. Robert is the former Head of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, former Assistant Director General at the Australian Agency for International Development, and is the former Secretary General of CARE International. From 2003-2007, Robert was the Chief Executive of CARE Australia. We are therefore delighted to have Robert’s experience to ensure continuity and aid the transition of a new permanent CEO.
On behalf of the Board, we are very excited about the future opportunities which await CARE Australia and have confidence in the sound financial and people base on which it can tackle those opportunities. Our mission remains the same: to work around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. Our thanks to all our supporters, partners and staff in helping us achieve a world of hope, tolerance and justice where poverty has been overcome.
