Walk in Her Shoes
In developing communities around the world women and girls walk an average of 6kms every day, just to collect the basics their families need to survive; water, food and firewood. Walking for water means they miss out on the chance to get an education or earn an income.
By signing up to the Walk in Her Shoes challenge and walking 25km, 50km or 100km this 8 to 14 March 2016, you’ll be helping women and girls step out of poverty. This is because the funds you raise will go to support CARE’s vital water and sanitation programs working with communities to build clean water sources close to home. This means today girls get the chance to learn, while tomorrow women they can earn an income and help lift entire communities out of poverty.
