When you donate your hard earned money to CARE, we work hard to ensure your charitable donation makes the biggest impact and done with complete transparency.

How much money goes to charity when you donate?

In 2019/20, CARE Australia spent:

91% of total expenditure on our programs, including education programs in Australia to raise awareness of poverty overseas
6% of donations were reinvested to raise future funds
3% of donations were spent on administration and our talented people.

Our expert staff, strong accountability measures and world-class computer infrastructure all contribute to a better organisation and better aid outcomes.

That’s why when a small fraction of your charitable donation goes to administration costs, it’s not taking away from the life-changing work that we do – it’s supporting it.

A charity with full disclosure on money spent

Thanks to your support, in our last financial year, CARE Australia helped improve the lives of more than 2.4 million people in 25 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Pacific.

More than $60.7 million was spent on international programs, bringing millions of people out of poverty and creating a more equal world.

A charity with low administrative costs

CARE Australia’s staff are committed to improving the lives of poor communities, bringing compassion and experience to CARE’s work in developing countries.

In 2019/20, 97 per cent of staff were local citizens of the countries in which we work, reflecting our commitment to empower local people and ensure a lasting impact.
